***Horizontal scrolling*** Hi, I've just created my website using the tinyscroll, it's brill, so thanks a tonne for sharing! However, it works well on chrome and safari, but jumps and has a different speed on FIREFOX...is there a way to fix this?

Thanks

Not sure if anyone is still hanging around here, but "Cheese" actually posted information about an image fix in 2009. It's really easy. The fix is in the Horz Tiny Scrolling code, built in. You just need to copy a few lines from there. The first is on my lines 42-46. Prob different depending on the version of the file. It starts with getTarget: function(target) and ends with },

Just copy that and past it in the same general spot on your tiny scrolling file. Then on my line 71 copy the code: targ = tinyScrolling.getTarget(targ); //a fix by Skid X

and paste it into your Tiny Scrolling code. You have find where it fits, for me it was line 56. Just look for similar code around it. If you need help or want my files just email me.

love the way this works - if only i could figure out how to implement it on my site, where i have a horizontal scrolling div and want to add arrows (because a lot of people can't seem to figure out that it scrolls). Tried a bunch of things but i'm just not following the implementation, or if i have to modify something to get it to scroll just that "window" instead of the whole page.

Call me crazy but if I want to make it horizontal do I just change all the 'Y' values in tinyscrolling.js to 'X'?
Or is there somewhere I can just download the horizontal source? (or is it available here and I am just blind?)

Thanks

I got a problem on my horizontal site, and I think many of you have the same problem. It's that it scrolls very slow in Firefox. Is there anyone solve this problem? Please email me the solution. Thanks so much!

Although, it works absolutely fine in IE and Safari its not the case in firefox and opera. In firefox and Opera the scrolling is fine but once done scrolling the website jumps to the top of the browser. can anyone help me fix this?

Dude! Great scripts! I had the pleasure of designing a website with your horizontal scrolling script. Such great stuff. Thank you so much for making this public! I had a lot of fun designing something new and unique for my client. Check out The Horizontal Way in action http://airship37.com

Hi! Thank you for a great script. Recently I was building a site on The Horizontal Way Template and came across an issue in Google Chrome browser (7.0.517.41 - linux). Not Arrows nor Mouse wheel slide was working. I have slightly edited the The Horizontal Tiny Scrolling script in order to get it fixed. Here's how:

1) I have commented out the dx variable on line 117 (this line caused the problem with arrows)
2) I've put these two lines after the line 127 (into init function of scrollTips) :
                var body = document.getElementsByTagName('body')[0];
		body.setAttribute('onmousewheel', 'chromeMouseScroll()');
3) And finally defined this simple function right after the scrollTips variable (on line 146, respectively 144 before adding formal two lines of code):
function chromeMouseScroll() {scrollTips.mouseScroll(); }

That's it! Now working like a charm also in Google Chrome. Tested on Google Chrome, Opera and FF, not IE. Please let me know, whether it works also in IE after apliing the hack.

Not Arrows nor Mouse wheel slide was working. I have slightly edited the The Horizontal Tiny Scrolling script in order to get it fixed. Here’s how:

1) I have commented out the dx variable on line 117 (this line caused the problem with arrows)
2) I’ve put these two lines after the line 127 (into init function of scrollTips) :
var body = document.getElementsByTagName(’body’)[0];
body.setAttribute(’onmousewheel’, ‘chromeMouseScroll()’);
3) And finally defined this simple function right after the scrollTips variable (on line 146, respectively 144 before adding formal two lines of code):
function chromeMouseScroll() {scrollTips.mouseScroll(); }

That’s it! Now working like a charm also in Google Chrome. Tested on Google Chrome, Opera and FF, not IE. Please let me know, whether it works also in IE after apliing the hack.

Is there any way keep the horizontal sliding (as in pages slide left-right), but keep the mouse wheel scrolling vertical?

Thanks for creating this script, it has given my site's experience a much needed lift.

I was trying to tweak the speed of the hover scroll and can't seem to find the proper code to alter. Can someone please help me with this?

Also, I was trying to add a "back to front" button adjacent to the hover scroll because I've deleted the "next" and "prev" functions. I'm trying to recreate something along the lines of the original "left" button if that makes any sense. I'm not sure how to write the code for that because I'm a bit of a n00b if you haven't noticed.

Thanks for your time and help. Hope to hear from you soon.

vertical scroling
about problem in Firefox and opera- scrolls up normal an down very slowly!
//var offset = Math.max(2, Math.min(endDistance, tinyScrolling.maxStep));
var offset = Math.min(Math.abs(Math.round((tinyScrolling.requestedY-top)/ tinyScrolling.brakeK)), tinyScrolling.maxStep);
after this change it works fine.
Thanks!

hi all,
i have implemented tiny scrolling on my site correctly, but for some reason, it doesnt scroll, ive used the correct identifier for links to the sections on the page (E.G "#portfolioBlock") with a link element linking to that DIV ID, but still doesnt work, im COMPLETELY stumped as to why this isnt working. i even created a blank page with one link and one div element to link to, and it works fine! so strange! anyway, if anyone could provide some help on this:

www.baysickdesign.com

you should be able to see the source and find why it isnt working, thanks in advance to anyone who can have a look!

Is there a way for the scroller to load immediately and not when the page has finished loading. I have a lot of images on my page, so the buttons don't start working until all the images have loaded, which crate a usability problem.

Hi! First of, I just want to thank you for a great script, it's just AWESOME! I'm planning on going the "Horizontal Way" for an upcoming project I'll be working on and I was wondering how could I make the internal links show up in the address bar, like "index.html#about"? Any suggestions?

Hey, I'm super happy I can use this script! I'm not so good in building the sites, better in thinking of something difficult I want ;)

Is there someone who figured out how to make the scrolling go a little bit slower? I saw some people already asking but didn't see any answer. I hope this is possible, it would work nicely on my design.

Thanks so much!

Hi!
Is there some way to disable the .js on certain a href? There are some links that I would like to not animate - and some that don't work 'cos of the horizontal tiny scroll since they are supposed to scroll vertically (ie only).

Has anyone made it possible to combine tiny scroll and horizontal tiny scroll btw?

I have a fixed menu on the left side and the script makes the sliding content to slide "under" the menu si the text becomes invisible. Is there a way to tell the script not to scroll all the way to the beginning of the website?
